Habitat: Historically, the Coyote was found in plains and deserts; now this species is found in most habitats.

Habits: Coyotes hunt at night and in the evening, and rest during the day. They are omnivores and eat almost anything. They are well known for their howls that are used to communicate and mark territory. Females have large litters and pups must learn to hunt from their parents.
