 Fur thick and woolly, hair not bicolored, lead gray or bright buffy brown, sometimes with bright orange overwash on part or all of body; wing membrane attached at ankle; may have low sagittal crest on skull; found only in southeastern Oklahoma
   
 Fur thinner and not woolly, hair distinctly bicolored, some shade of brown over blackish; wing membrane attached at base of toes; no sagittal crest present
