Habitat: Brushy valleys and hillsides covered with dense stands of oaks and hickory and tangles of vegetation such as honeysuckle, green briar, and grapevines.

Habits: The Golden Mouse builds nests and breeding platforms above ground. This mouse is strongly arboreal and builds roundish nests 3 to 15 feet above the ground. They also construct feeding platforms. Golden Mice eat seeds, fruits, plant parts, and insects. They are nocturnal.
