Habitat: Arid land, and open prairie, shortgrass, and semidesert country of the High Plains.

Habits: Swift Foxes are nocturnal hunters that prey on all available small animals. They construct dens in the ground, sometimes in cultivated fields and pasturelands. Young foxes are called kits and are born three to six per litter; both parents help raise the young.
