1840 Smallpox Summer
The calendar records that many Kiowa were still suffering from smallpox this summer.

1840-41 Hide quiver winter
A simple quiver is shown, unlike the highly decorated ones favored by young men. It represents a war party of older men.

1841 Unnamed summer
No dance was held this summer. The meaning of the crossed arrows is not known. This was the year that the Kiowa established peace with the Arapaho.
