Collections Technician

Full-Time $28,000 - $30,000. Req #17152

Provides technical assistance for the Museum's collections by managing the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program, monitoring Museum collection environments, and managing the Dermestid Facility for research-quality skeletal preparation.

Typical functions include:

-Operation and maintenance of treatment facility for all incoming objects

-Operation and management of the Dermestid Facility to produce research-quality skeletal preparations

-Monitoring for and identifying pests, posting reports, and

taking appropriate actions to prevent infestations

-Maintenance of records and appropriate databases for all activities performed

-Conducting IPM training to all museum staff

-Maintenance of budget

-Other related duties as assigned

-May occasionally require a flexible work schedule.

Student Employee - Visitor Services

Part-Time $7.50/hr. Req #17129

Performs a variety of tasks in the area of museum visitor services.

Birthday Party Host: duties include providing information about the program, supervising Discovery Room activities, providing gallery tours, all set up and clean up of party areas, refreshment service, payment processing, remaining on site during birthday program to ensure that museum policies and procedures are followed.

Customer Service Representative: duties include ticketing, collecting admission fees, dispensing information about the Museum & University to visitors, answering the Museum's main phone line, maintaining lobby displays, cash handling, opening and closing registers, and preparing daily financial reports.

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
