Graphic Designer
(Full-Time, $9.42 - $14.18/hr)

The successful candidate will be highly skilled in print design and typography. He/she will design and produce a wide-range of projects, ranging from environmental graphics to annual reports. As the museum's only graphic designer, he/she will be required to work with various departments within the museum and on many projects simultaneously.
Typical Functions:
-Works for Head of Exhibits to create visual identities and environmental graphics for all in-house exhibits, including labels, banners, interpretive text panels and posters.
-May be called to design event identities and accompanying materials, including invitations, programs, postcards and advertisements.
-Works with OU Printing Services to get quotes and correctly prepare materials for printing.
-Ensures consistent overall visual identity for the museum by following guidelines, templates and procedures for museum graphics and communication materials.
-Reviews individual project's design requirements, estimates timelines and establishes production schedules.
-Creates and designs by operating a Mac or other related equipment.
-Purchases and maintains inventory of supplies, such as ink and paper.
-Participates in regular departmental meetings and committees as required.
-Participates in classes, workshops, seminars and other forms of professional development that will improve and advance knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.
-Develops and maintains graphic resource files
-Provides direct supervision for interns and temporary employees as assigned.
-Complies with all museum policies, procedures and safety regulations; encourages others to respect safety standards and precautions.
-Performs matting and mounting of environmental graphics.
-Other duties as assigned. |
