Have your next Scout meeting with the dinosaurs!

The museum offers Scout leaders the option of scheduling individual workshops for their troops, dens or packs. Museum educators will lead hands-on activities designed especially to target badge, loop or pin requirements. After the workshop, spend the rest of the day exloring the museum! Workshop cost includes admission the museum, materials, and a museum educator to lead activities.

To register for one of our Workshops (see below) or schedule a private class for your troop, pack or den, or for more information, contact the education department at (405) 325-4712.

 

Upcoming Scout Workshops

*Enrollment begins August 3*

These workshops include workshop and general admission for scouts, and 1 adult per 5 scouts.

Due to space constraints, only participating scouts and supervising adults are allowed in the classroom area.

Additional adults and children not attending the workshop require additional admission price.

Please note that the museum does not provide badges, activity belt loops or pins.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

Animals “Try It” Scavenger Hunt

This scavenger hunt is available free with museum admission. Pick up a copy and start your hunt in the Discovery Room, or download it by clicking the link below!

Discovery Room Hours
Tuesday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Badge Requirements Fulfilled: 1, 3, 4, 5

Oil Up

Saturday, Dec. 12, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Oil is pretty slick, but do you know where it comes from? Join us at the museum as we get the dirt on oil and explore the uses, problems and conservation of this natural resource. Enroll your troop or individual girl to earn their Oil Up badge.

All Girl Scouts

Rocks Rock!
Saturday, Nov. 7, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Explore the Earth’s history through fossils, rocks and crystals! Join us at the museum to discover what is really under our feet. Brownies, Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Scouts will earn a badge and have some fun!

Enroll your troop or individual girl for one session to complete their badge.

Brownies:

Session I

Session II

10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (includes lunch break)

11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no lunch break)

Juniors:

Session I

10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. (includes lunch break)

Cub Scouts and Webelos Workshops


The museum offers activity workshops for Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scouts. These workshops target most, if not all the requirements for the completion of an Activity Belt Loop/Pin or Badge.

Wildlife Conservation and Naturalist
Saturday, Oct. 3

Are you wild about wildlife? Join us at the museum as we explore the lives of the creatures and plants living in our backyard!


 

Cub Scouts (Tiger, Wolf and Bear Scouts)
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This workshop fulfills the necessary requirements for the Cub Scout Wildlife Conservation Academic Belt, Loop and Pin.

Webelos
1 to 3:30 p.m.

This workshop fulfills the necessary requirements for the Naturalist Activity Badge.
Note: Respect character Connection must be completed on your own.
