We have lots of fun and exciting programs this summer for children of all ages.

Museum Discovery Programs

 

Discovery Room Summer Hours

Memorial Day through August 21

Tuesday through Saturday
10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sundays: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Memorial Day, May 26:

10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Labor Day, September 1:

10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Discovery Time

 

Tuesdays through Fridays, 1:30 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays, 3 p.m.

Join us in the Discovery Room for fun, interactive programs geared toward
preschool and elementary-age children. Activities include stories, crafts and touchable objects.

 

 

Exploring Our Wild Backyard

 

Saturdays in June, 11:00 a.m.


Take a nature walk with your little explorer and make a picture journal of your discoveries. This program is designed for children ages 2 to 6 years old with an adult. It begins inside the museum and extends outside on the museum grounds.

 

 

Toddler Time

 

Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

First and third Saturdays of each month, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Join us for fun and educational activities just right for your toddler. Toddler Time is for children ages 18 months to 3 years, with an adult, to explore, investigate and discover together. One caregiver for every two children is requested.

 

 

It’s Feeding Time!

Thursdays 11:30 a.m.

Saturdays 11:30 a.m.

Observe the Discovery Room’s animal guests, local reptiles, amphibians or fish, during their feeding time and learn about how these fascinating animals survive.

 

 

 

Voyaging on the Beagle

         Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.

         Saturdays 1:30 p.m.

Using historical illustrations and touchable specimens, find out more about the journey of the H.M.S. Beagle and how the young Charles Darwin recorded his discoveries.
