As part of the summer 2007 Infusing Inquiry into Elementary School Science II professional development workshop, 50 elementary school teachers from Putnam City, Norman, Little Axe and Noble participated in 10 different science investigations with research scientists at the University of Oklahoma. Each team of teachers developed research questions and utilized field sites, laboratories, equipment, and museum collections to collect data that addressed their research questions. The teams presented their research projects during a symposium on the last day of the workshop at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. Funds for this project came from a federal block grant to support the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and are competitively awarded and administrated by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
